What happens next?
This is a simple description of what happens after you’ve submitted your application to study at ELS Malaysia. There may be additional steps depending on the country you are applying from and your visa requirements.
- Submit your application – you can either apply online to join a course or send a copy by post or fax. Applying online is easy, fast and safe and goes directly to the International Student Counsellor who deals with your country of residence.
- Check entry requirements and availability – once we receive your application, we’ll check to see if you meet all the entry requirements for entry into Malaysia.
- Offer of a place – If you meet the necessary entry requirements, then we will write to you with a formal offer of a place at ELS Malaysia.
- Visa processing, payment and submission of related documents – Upon confirmation of your intent to study at ELS Malaysia, you will be required to pay the application fee. If you used the online application method, you can quickly and easily pay for this using your credit card. You should also send to the International Office the required certified documents to process your visa application.
- Letter of Acceptance from Malaysian Immigration Department – When we receive the Letter of Acceptance from the Malaysian Immigration Department for your student visa application, we will inform you to make your travel plans. Please note that the Malaysian Immigration Department require all international students to be registered with their institution from outside of Malaysia and receive confirmation of their student visa before arriving in Malaysia. You will not be allowed to convert your social or tourist visa into a student visa while in Malaysia. For more information, please click here.
- Arrival confirmation – Please inform us your travel arrangement at least 7 days before departure by filling up the airport pickup form. It is important to note that under the Malaysian Immigration requirements, a representative from ELS Language Centers is required to meet you at the airport. You should plan your travel so that you will arrive before the session begins.
- Accommodation availability check – We will then check the availability of your chosen accommodation and if possible, hold a place in your name.
- Meet you at airport or campus – we look forward to welcoming you at the airport.
- Take the ELS Placement Test – You will be required to take the ELS Placement Test at any of our centres. The Placement Test lets us know your English proficiency level, so that you are put in the right class with peers of the same level. This would allow you to learn more effectively as everything taught in class would be tailored to your specific level.
