26 April 2013 was a very special graduation day in ELS JB. A VIP, Mr. Lasal from WWF Organization (World Wide Fund) in KL came to the centre to give us a talk about the WWF Organization. Before the talk started, we had an interesting activitiy. Each level had to create a pledge to save the earth and also create a fashionable accessory or outfit from recyclable materials. Everyone had a lot of fun doing this activity. After each level had finished students presented their pledge. After that, there was a fashion show, where students modeled the items they had made.

Mr. Lasal’s presentation followed. That was a great experience. We gained some knowledge, without learning in the class. For example, we were taught the difference between “Protected” & Total Protected”, when referring to animals. Besides this, we also understood more about the tiger and its habitat. Ecological protection isn’t an easy task; everyone has the responsibility to take care of our environment.

At the end Mr. Lasal gave us a quiz, making the atmosphere livelier. Everyone was very active trying to answer the questions. In the twinkling of an eye, 12 noon had already arrived. All the activities came to the end and I could feel that all the participants were eagerly looking forward to the next graduation.

Overall Best Student

A total of 44 participants were involved in the Skytrek student activity. Of these 44, 40 were students. 18 students were from the Subang Jaya centre and another 22

were from the Kuala Lumpur centre. 2 teachers from each centre also assisted in the activity.

The destination was the popular Bukit Cahaya in Shah Alam, well known for its recreational attractions such as the jogging/ cycling track, the four seasons vivarium and of course, the Skytrek adventure. We arrived in Bukit Cahaya at close to 10 am and went straight in to register and obtain the necessary equipment to start our Extreme Challenge Trail. We were divided into 2 groups according to the centres we belong to. The trail consisted of 30 different trail challenges which include the flying fox and bridge walkway, among others. Everybody enjoyed themselves thoroughly despite being physically strained throughout the adventure. We were exhausted by the end of the trail. However, we still had the energy to rent bicycles for ourselves to cycle around the Bukit Cahaya cycling trail!

We departed around 5 in the evening and arrived safely at our respective ELS centres. It was a memorable trip that everybody is sure not to forget anytime soon. Many of us made new friends and got to know each other better, teachers and students alike. Students are now excited to join the next inter-centre activity to be planned by ELS!

On Saturday 6th April 2013, the long awaited football match took place. There was a great turnout for the event. There were all sixteen students who had participated and were accompanied by two teachers from ELS Subang Jaya and ELS KLCC.

We departed from ELS Subang Jaya at 9.30 A.M and reached Melaka town at about 11.30 A.M. We were taken for a tour by a tour guide to the A Farmosa who had explained to us about the history of Melaka which was quite interesting and the students were keen into to know more about the town.

At 1.00 P.M we were taken to Mahkota Parade which is located in the heart of Melaka town for lunch. All of us had MC Donalds for lunch and were really happy as it was a good lunch. After a short briefing about the football match by Mr. Randeep, we departed to MRSM Alor Gajah, Melaka.

ELS played well and made the UPM All Stars work hard for their two goals. The final score was 2-0 for the first round. Our team really played hard to go into the finals, and we made it. We played a few games against the MRSM students as well as the UPM staff. We lost only one game which was against the UPM in the finals. Overall ELS football team got the silver medal and they were all good players who had worked really hard to make us proud.
