Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) is a leading research university in Malaysia. The CIEP Certificate of Completion has been recognised and accepted by UPM as proof of English language proficiency for admission, besides TOEFL and IELTS, since 2011. As a specialist in English language training with more than 60 years of experience, ELS provides a direct pathway to UPM undergraduate and postgraduate programmes through the flagship Certified Intensive English Programme (CIEP). Serdang is a self-contained township with varieties of commercial, sports and social facilities, within modern shopping malls, recreational parks and forest reserves. Local convenience stores and food outlets serving varied cuisines are found just outside the campus gates and its vicinity. The nearest and one of the most famous tourist attractions is Malaysia’s administrative capital, Putrajaya, with its superbly well-planned landscaping, grand buildings, and the largest man-made lake in Malaysia.
Kuala Lumpur is serviced by KL Monorail, Rapid KL Light Rail Transit (LRT) as well as the KTM Komuter Train.
One card can be used to ride both the Ampang and Kelana Jaya LRT lines and the KL Monorail line.
MyRapid Card can be bought at any LRT station – RM10.00 (with RM2 card value and RM8 stored value)
Metered taxis and call taxis are easily available. Metered taxis can be hailed at the designated taxi halts. A minimum RM3.00 boarding fee is applicable.
By Campus Bus
For only RM15 fee per month, UPM provides an efficient campus bus service that runs every 15 minutes from 7 am – 11 pm daily. These buses ferry students to various destinations within the campus as well as to the surrounding areas, including residential colleges, private apartments/ condominiums, and Serdang’s commercial centre and commuter train station.

Approximately 15 minutes from UPM by bus, The Academia is located on top of the South City Shopping Complex, where there are several international restaurants and a well-stocked supermarket.
UPM Shuttle Bus services are available for UPM students from The Academia straight to the campus. The commuter train station is a 15- minute walk from the campus.
